What is Autism?

Autism is a life-long disability marked by differences in social interactions, delays in communication, and repetitive behaviors. Effects range from mild to severe. The costs of caring for an autistic person can be enormous, both emotionally and financially.

Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability in the world. Nationwide, 1 in 44 children is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder by age 8.
